At Bluebell we work with you to understand your specific circumstances and wider financial planning needs.

We shall help you to make sense of your financial situation, by starting at the very beginning.

Financial Planning

Life can be unpredictable and things can change very quickly, often highlighting a need to apply some focus in organising finances. There might be a variety of accounts and investments scattered around or perhaps paperwork has become a little muddled and in need of simplifying.

Can Bluebell provide financial planning advice?

Yes. Bluebell Financial Management provides a full financial planning service and is directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA Number 990457) to provide investment and care funding advice.

We shall work with you to create a comprehensive financial plan that incorporates your goals and objectives and includes cashflow planning to forecast your financial landscape in the future. This is an important first step in your financial planning journey.

We pride ourselves on spending time getting to know our clients and their support network. This enables us to tailor our service to support you in the best possible way and develop longstanding relationships.

Does Bluebell work with individuals and their Attorneys?

Yes. We want to ease the stress, anxiety and worry that can often accompany a decline in health and the prospect of a permanent change.

You may have successfully managed your own financial affairs for some time but feel this is something that you are no longer able to do. You may be an Attorney* and simply not know where to start or perhaps feel unsure of your responsibilities.

You may feel overwhelmed by your current situation or that of a loved one you are trying to support.

What if I need care – can Bluebell help?

Yes. Having the ability to choose where and how care is provided is so important. Early discussions are essential to ensure that your money lasts as long as possible. Our services are designed to make things easier.

Bluebell will work with you to identify any shortfall in current or future care fees. We can explore the costs of all care funding options, including Immediate Needs Annuities, and present a suite of options enabling you and your Attorneys to make informed care funding decisions.

We will explain the complexities of the care system and suggest questions to ask when selecting an appropriate care setting. We cannot wave a magic wand, but we can ensure that you are prepared for the way ahead.

Can you provide guidance on gifting?

Yes. Discussions surrounding gifting and inheritance often come hand in hand with a decline in health. We are able to provide guidance on how to best manage the overall financial position which may include gifting and inheritance tax planning.

We encourage you to ‘control the controllables’ and will discuss the potential implications of any gifting activity that has already taken place.

What is the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA)?

SOLLA is a not-for-profit organisation that was founded in 2008 dedicated to maintaining higher standards and accessibility to regulated financial advice for older people and their families.

Carolyn Matravers has supported those in later life over the past 30 years. She has been an Accredited member of SOLLA since 2019 and is experienced in delivering bespoke care funding plans, supporting over 80 individuals and their families during this time.

What can I expect when I get in touch?

At Bluebell we know that a problem shared is a problem halved. When health declines it can feel like a pressure cooker situation with a fear on all sides of what lies ahead.

You cannot underestimate the benefit of talking things through with someone who understands, is impartial and not emotionally involved.

We are here to listen, guide and support through the challenging times - ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’ and we want to help you to ‘get your ducks in a row’ and your finances in order.

Is there a charge for an initial telephone call or meeting?

There is no charge for an initial telephone call to understand your enquiry in more detail. This call is often followed by a more detailed face-to-face meeting or Zoom call which helps us to understand the financial position and family dynamics.

There is no charge for this meeting or Zoom call. Any fees relating to future work will be clearly explained in the meeting and confirmed in writing after the discussions, allowing you time to consider your next steps.

The ball is then left in your court – no charges will have been incurred at this point. You can then decide whether you wish to engage in any of Bluebell’s services;

and progress any further.

Whether you are considering your own finances or are acting in the role of Attorney or for a family member or friend, do get in touch for an initial chat to see how we can help you prepare for the way ahead.

*An Attorney can be a friend, family member or professional who is appointed to act on an individual’s behalf through either an Enduring or Lasting Power of Attorney.
